Summer is here and that means long days and hot weather. While you may enjoy spending some time outdoors in the pool, some days might be too hot to enjoy outdoors. It can be a great time to get some indoor projects done as well. Since the kids are home from school, have them lend a hand to get the cleaning done even faster.
Here are 6 cleaning ideas you can accomplish this year:
Pantry & Refrigerator
Start by checking the dates on foods. If its expired, throw it away! With growing kids, there can also be a lot of half-eaten or open boxes that have spent some serious time on the shelves. Now is the time to purge and organize! If there are items that you never use, but is not expired, it might be a good idea to just get rid of it: find a local food pantry and donate!
Clean your upholstery
When was the last time you cleaned your sofa or recliner? With the family outside playing, it can be the perfect time to get your furniture cleaned.

Clean the garage
If you parked in the garage over the winter, your garage is probably filthy from the road dirt and salt. If you do not park in the garage, is it because your garage is full of clutter? It might be an excellent time to give it some serious cleaning. Organize and get rid of things you do not use or that have broken. Consider using overhead storage or bins to help keep your garage organized.
Rearrange the kids rooms
Some children like to hide things, wrappers, broken toys, even food. You will likely be surprised at some of the things you will find hidden in the small corners of their bedrooms! These are also locations that dust, and allergens can build up as they are typically harder to clean places. Maybe it’s time to replace some old furniture in their rooms or a new color? It can be an exciting project for everyone.
Clean the carpets
